Auto-Biography

Canon 7D, 28-135, 580exII, Cactus triggers, Lightroom 3
Lots of first with this photo. First time using triggers, first time doing any off camera lighting, first time to Sunset Beach. Kattaree, pictured above; wanted to go out on a shooting adventure and took me to this beach. Light was swell and not too many beach dwellers gawking at the sight of a flash and umbrella. We were poking at the feel of the photo and that it looks like she's about to tell her life story. An older photo but it's almost sparking me to shoot more...almost.

YOLO IS A LIE.

Do you hear that? It's the sound of another stupid catchphrase dying. Coined in 2011 by Drake, it was overused and abused by every follower and it's mother. While everyone is on their flavor of social network ranting about the death to YOLO, I wanted to take care of this issue in a more (or less) realistic thought. Alas, a Comprehensive List of People Who Defy YOLO.
  • Jesus Christ, lived twice.
  • Tupac. In my opinion, his appearance at Coachella was to bring the end to YOLO. Like a harbinger of death...to yolo.
  • Marty McFly. Now this one is technical. I'm gonna say he defies YOLO because of two reasons. He existed in one place, twice. Also, a time machine in itself defies the idea of YOLO.
  • Doc Brown. See above.
  • Goku, Vegeta, Tien, and pretty much the whole cast of DBZ. Dragon Balls easily teabag Drake on this one.
  • Freddy Krueger/Jason Voorhees. If you haven't seen their movies, I hate you.
  • Zombies. Zombies defy YOLO, in a bad way though.
Let's face it, YOLO is dead. It was cool for maybe a week, but it was cool because of the idea behind it. Now people are blurting it left and right at everything. In all honesty, I love the idea of YOLO. Going balls to the wall and making it count, that's definitely the motto (pun intended). Just don't go wearing a shirt that say YOLO. I already knew I only lived once, tool.
